Welcome to Matisse Class! Our teacher is Mrs Arif. We also have Miss Maddocks and Miss Loxam to help us with our learning.
Our class is named after the famous French artist, Henri Matisse. He painted many famous paintings. When he became older and could no longer paint, he started making pictures using pieces of paper, he called it painting with scissors.
It is really important that we remember to bring our book bags and water bottles to school every day.
We normally have PE on a Monday. We must remember to wear our PE kits to school on Monday.
Every Friday we get new spellings to learn and we have a spelling test the following Friday.
We use Lexia and NumBots for homework. 5 minutes a day or 15 minutes every other day, will support our learning. You can find our NumBots and Lexia log in details in the front of our reading record books.
It is very important that we read at home at least 3 times a week. The more we read the more fluent readers we will become! My reading record book must be signed at least once a week. Reading will be recorded on my pupil mentoring sheet. I am aiming for Yellow or green.
We are looking forward to our time in Year 1.
